Soap Sampler
Another idea I've had rolling around my head is a Soap Sampler. I thought it woud be a good idea to offer a "Sampler Pack" that would include little 1-ounce sizes of my soaps. I made an "Herbal & Earthy" one and a "Fruit & Floral" one. My brother was over when I was putting these together. First he said, "Wow, are you going to charge $12.95 for that?" As I was cutting, wrapping, tyeing and labeling I told him it was the equivalent to 2 bars of soap. After he saw all the work that went into it, he said, "Wow, is that all you are going to charge for that, $12.95?" Anyway, I think they turned out really cool!
New Stuff!
I made a few new things and finally got around to adding pictures on my website. It's been really hectic around the house and with my job. Anyway, I got some nice, new fragrance oils from the Scent-Works to try. A real winner is their Pink Sugar. I was a little bit concerned about the color. The fragrance turned the soap a very dark brown color. I expected this to happen. I really liked this scent, however, so decided to make a batch and see if it sold. I took 4 bars to the market on Saturday and sold them all, so I guess my customers liked the scent as much as I do! I used Apricot & Cherry oils as well as Coconut Milk and my normal formula which includes Shea & Cocoa Butters, Babassu, Castor, Olive, Coconut, Rice Bran, Palm & Palm Kernel oils. It really smells nice!
